Chessie's Story
Chessie came to wescue with Clare and Cosette from a hoarding case. Her eyes were painful with glaucoma, and despite all of our best efforts, we were unable to save any vision. Being blind doesn't slow this girl down at all. She follows her foster mom and furry foster siblings around the house and yard with ease. Just say her name and she will come running to you.

Are you a traveler? Chessie is ready to go! She's been traveling with her foster mom and is a pro at scoping out new places!

She may be a little shy when you first meet her but she soon will be your best friend! Since coming to wescue, she made friends with people of all ages.

Chessie LOVES to cuddle! From the bed to the couch, expect a little Chessie to keep you company.

She also enjoys comfy dog beds so she can wiggle around on her back and squeak happily.

She is continuing to improve on her leash walks. Slow short walks are best as she learns new places. Treats and love are a must to keep her going!

Age: about 8
Weight: 9 lbs
Dogs: good
Cats: good
Children: good

Chessie has been vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Her suggested adoption donation is $200 and includes 6 months’ heartworm preventative meds, prepaid lifetime premium microchip registration, and safety harnesses.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Chessie, please apply online at wsrh.com

Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. If you have a specific question, please email us at westiehouston@gmail.com but in order to be considered for adoption, you must complete an application.

All dogs are available until “Adoption Pending” is noted next to their names.
