Cherry the House Mouse's Story

Update 3/7/26. We are accepting back up applications on this pup. Please note we are unable to respond to every application.
Cherry is a tiny female apple-headed chihuahua born 11/3/25, she just cleared 2 lbs so we expect her to stay tiny, 3-5 lb range. Cherry was surrendered to our rescue when the rest of her litter died of parvo-virus and the owners did not have the means to try to save them. She has been an incredible little fighter and continues to do so well. Cherry is fiesty, unafraid of dogs of all sizes, loves to eat and play and be carried around be everyone. She is good in the car in her little carried and is happy to be in her playpen. He is not fully housetrained, but with her size bladder we dont really expect her to be at her age. She loves toys/snacks, sleeping in piles or warm blankets and tons of love from everyone. Because of her tiny size, her safest home would be without small childen or large dogs but we are willing to discuss options with a very dog savy adopter. She would love to be someone's little travel buddy. She has now been spayed and had hernia surgery. Please only apply if you have tiny dog experience.
Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested in may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We may consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 + months with no local candidates.
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. We do not have a shelter/kennel. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some cases a home check.
Listed for adoption: 2/23/26
Adoption fee: $650
PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time.
