Cherry Garcia

Cherry Garcia is one sweet, confident little hound with a great personality. At 5 months old and 25 pounds, Cherry is doing wonderfully in her foster home and proving that she’s ready to experience just about anything life has to offer.

Cherry is outgoing, playful, and incredibly confident in new situations. She does great in stores, on boats, and out exploring with her people. She enjoys water-adjacent adventures, although swimming isn’t quite her thing. She loves to play and would be a fabulous companion for an active family that wants a dog who can join them on their adventures.

Cherry is also wonderfully social. She loves people, enjoys sitting in laps and being held, and gets along well with other dogs. She is very submissive with her canine friends and doesn't particularly enjoy being left on her own, so having a canine companion may help her feel more comfortable when her people aren't around. She may also do well with a cat. Her foster mom has a stray cat who regularly hangs around, and Cherry is completely indifferent to her.

And Cherry is a pretty smart cookie! She has pretty much mastered both Sit and Recall, giving her new family a great foundation to build on. As with any young dog, she will still need continued training, socialization, and guidance as she grows.

Cherry is also a real head-turner. Her white coat is sprinkled with brown ticking, plus she has two adorable round spots: one on her face and another on her rump. We think she’ll be around 30–35 pounds when she’s fully grown, although that’s just our best guess.

Cherry is spayed and vaccinated for her age. She will need to finish her remaining puppy vaccines, so her adopter will need to work with their veterinarian or ARF to make sure she stays on schedule.

If you’re looking for a sweet, confident, playful hound who is ready to be your sidekick, Cherry Garcia might be exactly the dog you’ve been looking for. Whether it’s a trip to the store, a day on the boat, a hike, or simply curling up together at home, Cherry is ready to go!

Interested in Cherry Garcia?
