Cherokee's Story

Name: Cherokee
DOB: 1/23/2025Breed: Pomeranian Mix
Gender: Male (Neutered)
Weight: 20 lbs
Location: Buffalo

Cherokee is a very smart, sweet, playful, lovable boy, who gives lots of kisses, cuddles, and just wants to be right by your side. Dog, cat, and kid friendly. He would love to have another dog to help with his energy level. He has a fun-loving energy and would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys walks, playing fetch, outdoor adventures, or hiking. He loves balls, bones, squeaky toys, snow, and playing outside. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He's crate trained, mostly potty trained, leash trained, good in the car, and an all-around easy, happy pup. A perfect size, great personality, and endless love to give!

If you're an active person or family looking for a buddy, apply at 716paws.org/adopt, or if you're already pre-approved, send a message to the rescue.

716 Promoting Animal Welfare & Safety (716 PAWS)'s Adoption Policy
Currently we only adopt out within a 1 hour commute from the Buffalo Niagara airport. We accept any application outside of that area if the family has no other pets and is willing to come to buffalo for meet and greets with the dogs. If an applicant has other pets it is on a case by case basis weather the foster is willing to travel for the meet and greet. We will consider processing applications outside of Western New York and Rochester if the family has no other dogs in the home and is willing to come to Buffalo for the meet and greet. We do not provide transport services to out of town adopters. We do not adopt within Canada. What's Required to Adopt Required vetting for dogs: They must be spayed or neutered Be current on their rabies, distemper/parvo. Kennel cough/Bordatella is highly recommended but not required for dogs. If current animals are not vaccinated and spayed/neutered, the application will be denied unless there is a valid reason that it was medically necessary not to perform the procedure. Required vetting for Cats:? They must be spayed or neutered Be current on their rabies PLEASE NOTE: You must be 21 or older to adopt. Once your application is received we distribute to our volunteers for processing. First we will contact your vet reference if you current have pets living in the home or have had pets within the past two years. Next we will be contacting your personal references. Next is the home check. This visit is a non dog meeting where a volunteer will meet with you and the members of your household to discuss the adoption process, review the home, the yard and answer any questions you may have. Once the home visit is completed and if you are approved, you will be notified and can then express interest in a dog.
