He is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his person, and once you have earned his trust, you will have a devoted companion for life.<br/><br/>CHEROKEE came to Noah's Arks Rescue in 2019 with severe hip and leg injuries. Today, he is active, happy, and thriving, but he does best in a home that understands structure, boundaries, and routine.<br/><br/>CHEROKEE's ideal adopter:<br/>Adult-only home<br/>Only pet<br/>Experienced owner comfortable with structure<br/>Secure yard preferred<br/><br/>CHEROKEE has resource guarding issues around food. Our team manages this successfully every day with consistency and a confident handler. He does not guard toys in the same way and happily plays tug with trusted people.<br/><br/>CHEROKEE loves walks, though if given the choice, he would probably choose romping around the yard with toys and a human tug partner. He also loves the pool. He will casually step in, lie down, and fully commit to the soak until he remembers that breathing and underwater lounging do not exactly mix.<br/><br/>CHEROKEE is not for everyone.
