Chef Boyardee's Story

Chef Boyardee quite literally ran into rescue. He ran in front of my car one morning, leash dragging behind him, and after scanning his microchip, I was able to reunite him with his owner. Less than 24 hours later, I learned they could no longer keep him—and with no plan in place, Chef officially became an Oasis dog.

Chef is a big, goofy, incredibly loving dog who has experienced a lot of change in a short amount of time. He’s dog friendly, but he’s made it pretty clear he’d much rather have one canine best friend than be part of a pack of ten. He’s looking for a feline-free home, is fully potty trained, knows sit and shake, and absolutely loves his walks. Once he settles in, he walks beautifully on leash and is happiest exploring alongside his person.

Chef is also a certified Velcro dog. If you’re looking for a best friend who thinks personal space is wildly overrated, you’ve found him. He is currently working through crate training and some separation anxiety—but really, who isn’t working through a little anxiety these days? He needs someone willing to continue giving him the consistency, structure and reassurance he hasn’t always had.

Underneath those little tribulations is a really good dog who is eager to love and be loved. Chef isn’t looking for perfection; he’s looking for someone willing to keep showing up for him while he becomes the best version of himself.

Chef Boyardee is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and officially ready to find his forever home.

He ran into my path by accident. Now we’re hoping the right person runs into his.
