Cheetah's Story

Hi, I'm Cheetah, a smart, loyal boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart once you get to know me. I've been through a lot, and when I first arrived in foster care I was anxious and on high alert-old guard-dog habits die hard-but after time to decompress, my sweet, affectionate side really came through. I form strong bonds with my people and love leaning into them or resting my head on them for affection.

I do well with other calm, well-mannered dogs who respect boundaries and help set a good example, and I enjoy walks, toys, and following my people around. New people can make me nervous at first, and I may bark or growl until I feel safe, but with patience, structure, and positive guidance, I warm up and settle in nicely. I'm still learning how to just be a pet again, and I'd thrive with an experienced, patient adopter who understands dog behavior, takes introductions slowly, and helps me feel secure.

Now back at the shelter after thriving in foster care, I'm hoping someone will give me the second chance I truly deserve. Underneath my tough exterior is a total teddy bear who wants nothing more than stability, companionship, and a place to finally relax and belong.

3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA 17406
Kennel #: 3537
