Cheech's Story

ADOPT CHEECH MY MISUNDERSTOOD SENIOR GENTLE SOUL

Im Cheech, and Im one of those dogs who gets overlooked again and again. Its not because I dont have love to give, but because life hasnt always been kind to me. I spent years neglected, and it left me with some trauma. When I first meet new people, Im sensitive to touch and I dont like being grabbed or handled suddenly. I need a little time to trust. But once I know you, I melt. I bond deeply, quietly, and in the sweetest ways.

I was adopted once and returned within an hour because no one gave me the chance to adjust. Im not difficult. Im just misunderstood. I just need someone who will let me open up at my own pace.

Im a senior boy, and I had a ruptured leg that was repaired. Ive healed so well. My fosters, Kiki and Ed, know me better than anyone. In the beginning, I would give little warning snips when I felt scared, but with patience and consistency, Ive blossomed.

I get along great with dogs and cats, and I mostly mind my own business. I love toys, bully sticks, and cow hooves. Simple joys make me happy.

Im hoping to find my forever home before the holidays. I deserve a warm bed, gentle hands, and someone who sees me for who I really am: a loyal, soft-hearted dog waiting for my person.

If youre willing to give me the chance Ive waited years for, please fill out an adoption application. You can even schedule a call with my fosters if youd like to learn more; they know me best.

Im ready. I just need someone who will say, Ill give you time.

Please visit our website desertpawssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
