Charlotte's Story
Charlotte was found by a tourist in the nearby Red River Gorge area. She was terrified, underweight, and had several lacerations of unknown cause on her legs. After a few days she became accustomed to life in the shelter, relishing meal times and her clean bed. She is now a healthy, if slender, weight of about 50 pounds. She is probably about 2 years old.

Charlotte has come out of her shell and is getting better at walking on a leash every day. She is cautious but curious, and has made friends with several other dogs and engages in play. She is warm and pleasant around people. Charlotte might be happiest in a quieter home with lots of one-on-one attention, which she has shown that she wants to return.
