Charlie's Story

Rescue Story
Charlie is a 4 year old terrier mix and he is from South Korea. Charlie was found with 1,600 other dogs being kept by an animal hoarder in South Korea. Our partner, Beagle Rescue Network, saved him along with all the other dogs (and had the animal hoarder shutdown).

About Him/Her
Charlie is a loving companion. He is quiet, gentle, intelligent, but can also be playful. He is very sweet and affectionate with people he knows and trusts. He loves getting belly rubs and snuggles. He happily sits or sleeps near you while you watch tv or work from home. Being around people is one of his favorite things.
With other dogs, he is gentle and friendly to other dogs and other dogs seem like him too. He can be playful with other dogs. After he arrived in Canada, he has been adapting quickly. He makes progress everyday and it quite surprises us compared to other rescue dogs we’ve seen and experienced. He is such a brave and smart soul and ready to learn more.

He's not a big fan of loud noise, water, and car rides, but his foster family has been working with him. He is in panic, wimping and running away from the source of the sound such as a basketball dribbling sound, kid playing sound, playing tennis ball sound or construction sound. But we are positive he will overcome this quickly.
Charlie walks well on a leash and has good manners mostly except when he hears some scary sound. When he starts pulling, it is how he indicates he wants to smell something or he is ready to go home. According to his foster mom, he is a gentle walker who likes exploring the trails, running in the grass, and sniffing around in the bushes. Generally, he is an easy going boy who would like an easy going lifestyle. He will come asking you for pets and cuddles when he wants attention. Doesn't he sound like a great companion?

What’s Great About Him/Her
? Learns quickly
? Adapts easily to a new foster family
? Quiet, gentle, and very sweet
? Good with other dogs
? Well-behaved overall

What Can He/She Improve?
Like most rescue dogs, these areas of improvement are the result of their hard life in the shelter. But with patience and training, they can improve tremendously:
? Loud noises scare him
? Not a big fan of car rides

Medical Notes
? Overall healthy
