7 year old canine seeks single-pet household Charlie is a 7 year old lab mix who weighs 42 pounds. Charlie is an affectionate sweetheart who loves to be close to her humans! She is highly intelligent, and is very responsive to her name. She knows the commands for sit and stay, and has great recall. She is treat motivated, so teaching her more commands should be easy! Charlie loves food so much that she is always eager to help out in the kitchen, but her other interests are walks, car rides, chew toys, and playing with her people. Charlie is not a fan of other animals, so her ideal home would have no other cats or dogs. Charlie is also wary of children, so we are searching for an adult-only home for her. Ideally Charlie's new home would also have a fenced back yard so she can enjoy the outdoors without taking herself on adventures. Charlie is spayed, microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. She is up to date on appropriate vaccines. Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County's Adoption Policy

AHS does not do same-day adoptions. We provide a form called a “Statement of Interest” for potential adopters to fill out. When completed, this form is reviewed by an AHS volunteer (the animal’s Case Manager) who will contact any potential adopter with any additional questions and arrange a meeting if it looks like a good match. The potential adopter usually hears back from a volunteer within 1-2 weeks. The case manager will only be contacting SOI that our might be a good fit and will arrange a meet and greet. Adoption fees for DOGS are: Puppies (up to age 18 months): $425 (plus $200spay/neuter deposit for puppies that are not spayed or neutered at time of adoption)Cash only Adults (18 months - 8 years old): $350 Seniors (8 years and up): $225 Adoption fees for CATS are: Kittens (up to 6 months): $200 Young Adult cats (7 months -3 years) $175 Adult cats (4-7 years): $150 Senior Cats (8+ years) $100 Adoption fees include: Basic shots, spay/neuter, and microchip on dogs and cats (except puppies under 6 months of age). All cats are FIV/FELV tested.
