Charlie 's Story
**Meet Charlie!**
Please fill out an application to meet him! https://www.welcomehomesanctuary.org/adoption-application

Meet Charlie, the puppy who decided to skip the "rebellious teenager" phase and go straight to **Valedictorian**. If life were a movie, Charlie’s backstory would be the classic "street urchin turned scholar." He grew up on the streets, abandoned and left to fend for himself, but instead of coming away with a tough-guy attitude, he decided to become the most compliant, smart, and well-behaved 18-pounder you’ll ever meet.

Charlie is basically the **Straight-A student** of his foster home. While other puppies are still debating the pros and cons of using the rug as a bathroom, Charlie was the very first in his group to master potty training—he’ll even give you a polite little cry to let you know it’s time for a "nature break". He is incredibly smart and actually *listens* (I know, a puppy that listens?!), already mastering commands like **Sit, Crate, and Bed**.

When it comes to his "dorm room" (his crate), Charlie is a total fan. He genuinely likes his crate and retreats there for some quiet time like a true introvert. And if you’re looking for a partner for a morning stroll, Charlie is your man; he is **excellent on a leash** and doesn’t pull at all, probably because he’s too busy being a dignified gentleman.

Socially, Charlie is the definition of "cool and collected." He has a very "even-keel" personality and doesn't get easily flustered. When meeting new people, he prefers to politely ignore them at first—he’s not a fan of "small talk". With other dogs, he’s incredibly friendly, but he has a strict "you come to me" policy for introductions. Once the ice is broken, he is a world-class playmate who loves his **squeaky and soft toys**.

Basically, Charlie is a 16-week-old old soul who is ready to trade his street-life history for a cozy bed and a family who appreciates a pup with top-tier manners. If you want a dog who is already a "Good Boy" out of the box, Charlie is waiting for you!
