Charlie's Story

Charlie

Beagle

Senior

Charlie is a 35 pound, 9 year old, neutered Beagle who was recently surrendered to the rescue when his family was moving out of the country. He is described as a cuddly, affectionate dog who enjoys other dogs and is currently sharing a foster home with another Beagle. True to his Beagley nature, he is a foodie and will steal food if given the opportunity. His previous family even indicated he knew how to move chairs to get food off the table!! Also, in typical Beagle fashion, he can be vocal and may howl or whine when anxious. He may also bark when he sees other dogs and be eager to interact with them. Despite being a senior, he is an active, energetic boy. He is not crated trained and likes to sleep in his little bed or on the furniture. Charlie's ideal home would have a fenced yard or be willing to take him out multiple times a day on leash walks to explore and do his business. His previous home indicated he was good with cats and children but we have not seen him interact with either. A home where someone is home more often than not, would best suit Charlie. His prior home left him alone and indicated he would bark initially when left alone. He will follow his nose and need to be in a fenced area when offleash.
