Charlie's Story
Meet Charlie—Our Yuletide Gentleman!

At 12 years young, Charlie is the perfect blend of distinguished Christmas gentleman and playful elf-in-training. This 50-pound hound mix has jingled his way through some tough times, but his heart? As big and bright as the star atop the tree.

Originally abandoned in Kentucky and left to fend for himself, Charlie's story could have been a chilly winter tale—but thanks to a kind rescuer, it turned into a holiday miracle. After surviving what's believed to be at least one car accident, Charlie received the medical care he desperately needed, including surgery to remove damaged tissue. With the help of his attentive foster (and maybe a little Christmas magic), he made a full recovery!

Now he's cleared for all his favorite festive activities: cozy fireside naps, joyful romps in the yard, and—most importantly—finding his warm and loving forever home. Charlie is house-trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He's a social fellow who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially enjoying playtime with a foster puppy. Cats are perfectly fine indoors, though he may bark at them outside. He's comfortable around respectful children, preschool age and up, and has even met horses without batting an eye.

Charlie does have some mild separation anxiety, but he can stay in a kennel or be left out while you're gone, greeting you with an enthusiastic, sometimes grabby, reunion hug when you return. It's all love—he's just so happy to see his people again.

Charlie is truly a gentle soul who has weathered the coldest storms and still radiates warmth, joy, and love like a four-legged fireplace. If you're wishing for a loyal companion this holiday season, Charlie might just be the Christmas miracle you've been waiting for.

If you want to apply to adopt please go to OneByOneRescue.org

Together, we're saving lives—one by one!

One By One Rescue is an all volunteer, 501c3 non-profit foster based rescue.
