Charlie 2114's Story
Hi there! My name is Charlie.

Well, technically it's Charlie. But if we're friends, you can call me Charles, Char Char, or just "good boy"-that's my favorite.

I'm about 7-8 years old and a proud 78 pounds of handsome. My rescue family says I could stand to lose a few pounds, but they also admit my waddle is ridiculously cute, so we're all a little conflicted about it.

I'm what you'd call a laid-back gentleman. While some dogs are training for marathons, I'm more interested in perfecting the art of relaxation. I love sleeping, lounging, watching TV with my people, and soaking up all the pets and attention you're willing to give. My naps are legendary. In fact, I sleep so soundly that the rescue staff gets jealous.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy adventures! I love short walks, car rides, and exploring the neighborhood one sniff at a time. I'm excellent on a leash and take my sniffing duties very seriously. Some dogs chase squirrels. I prefer gathering the latest neighborhood news and leaving a few comments of my own along the way.

My favorite things are simple: my people, a comfy place to nap, a nice walk, a car ride, and lots of affection. Every now and then I'll give a toy a good shake just to remind everyone I've still got it, but mostly I'm a professional companion.

I've been told I have some pretty great features too: floppy ears, a big smile, a charming underbite, adorable little snores, and of course, my signature waddle.

I'm house-trained and kennel-trained, though I don't really need a kennel. When I move into a new home, I may mark a little at first while I'm settling in, but I catch on quickly.

As for treats? I'm actually pretty picky. I'd much rather hear "Good boy!" and get a few extra pets. Praise is where it's at.

I'm looking for a quiet, relaxed home where I can be the center of attention. I need to be your one and only pet, and I'd do best with older, mature kids who understand that I'm still learning that some kinds of touching aren't scary or uncomfortable. A home with a privacy fence would be a dream come true.

I've spent my whole life waiting to be someone's favorite. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily share your couch, watch TV with you, accompany you on leisurely walks, and love you with his whole heart, I might just be your guy.

So what do you think? Got room on your couch for a handsome gentleman named Charlie?
