I’m also loving and gentle and cuddly and such a nice companion. I’m truly the perfect combination of active and goofy mixed with affectionate and chill. I have so much to offer! And I would love the chance to be your dog. <br/><br/>I’m a handsome, 6-year-old, 57-pound sweetheart, with the cutest face, perky ears, gentle eyes, and a happy, social, delightful personality. I’m even already fully housebroken and crate trained too. I found myself at Wayside when my previous family was no longer able to care for me. We had been together for many years, and I miss them. I know what it means to be part of a loving family. I want that again. Here at Wayside, the big shelter felt so lonely, scary, and confusing to a family dog like me. So, of course I was thrilled to have the chance to go to a loving foster home. I’ll never forget what a gift my foster family has given me. I show my appreciation every single day with cuddles and soft kisses. <br/><br/>I quickly settled in and made myself at home in foster. I spent the first few days soaking up my new environment and exploring the house, but now I just follow Foster Mom from room to room, always right there in case she needs me. I calmly stay in my crate when no one is home. At night, I can choose whether to sleep in my crate or in the bedroom with my foster parents. I like to curl up close to Foster Mom for naps, giving her a little kiss when I wake up to show her my love. Other times, I hop up in her favorite chair as soon as she gets up, with a silly, ornery smile on my face, claiming it as my own, and making everyone laugh at my silly antics. I’m such an entertaining and fun friend. Foster Mom says that I have a doctorate degree in cuddling. If I’m not playing, I’m always ready for cuddles. <br/><br/>I’m pretty perfect, but Foster Mom says that there are always new things to learn, so we have regular training sessions, which I love. I am thriving with positive reinforcement training, patience, and praise when I’m a good boy. I’ve been known to try to bolt out open doors or gates in the yard that aren’t latched, so please keep a close eye on me. I love playing with my stuffy toys and figuring out brain games. I’m one smart fella, so please help me stay busy both physically and mentally. I enjoy having visitors stop by. I’m curious at first, but then I’m ready for attention and pets. I’m polite and friendly with everyone. I am a very strong and athletic dog, so I will need to meet any children in my new home prior to adoption. I need my whole family to be comfortable with my exuberant and enthusiastic style.<br/><br/>I love going for walks or other adventures, and I enjoy saying hello to everyone I meet along the way. I pulled hard during my walks at Wayside, but I’ve been working on my leash manners using my harness and making lots of progress. Everything is easier now that I’m living in a home! I also enjoy running and playing in our fenced backyard, and I hope to have a securely fenced yard in my new home as well. Please supervise me when I’m outside to help me stay safe. I love playing with other dogs! I back off when the dog in my foster home gets too rough. I prefer a gentler playstyle. If you have another dog, I’d love to meet them before going home together, to make sure that we’re a great match. <br/><br/>I have such a nice temperament, and I’m an adaptable dog who will do well in a variety of homes. Quite simply, I hope to be loved and included as part of a family for the rest of my life. I’m a loyal friend who will make you laugh, bring you comfort, and be there for you through every moment of life. Your constant companion, always there when you need me.
