CHARLIE's Story

Hello! I was found as a stray, so my history is mostly a mystery. I'm a very pretty girl. Foster notes on Charlie: She loves everybody and wants everyone to pet her. she's good with kids and adults. she's listens to commands very well when you have treats. she loves being pet so much and stopping to sniff everything. She loves everybody and is so gentle with everyone she meets! Charlie is such a precious dog that is the perfect combination of playful, cuddly, and independent. Although little about her history is known, she is extremely comfortable with car rides, elevators, doors, and stairs. She is house trained, responds to commands, and does not bark often. Charlie is an absolute Queen who deserves the royal treatment, so we had a great day of pampering and relaxation. I gave her a bath (she was calm the entire time), then she snoozed for a long time, then I took her for a walk, and then she snoozed more and relaxed on my couch next to me while I finished my work. Charlie is an extremely perceptive dog who is very aware of her surroundings, yet she always remains calm. She is one big love bug, and she is going to make a wonderful family dog because she is great with all ages and a lot of social interaction. Charlie was a very likeable pup with some cute baby pig like qualities. She enjoyed walking at a mostly leisurely pace, though showed some interest in moving faster when she saw other dogs in the distance and seemed curious. Pulled initially when on leash, but quickly settled into my walking pace. Great listener when treats are involved! Seemed to recognize the command wait and clearly understood sit. She sat every time she heard the treat bag, but wasn't keen on sitting when treats were not involved! A little anxious in the car, but it seemed mostly like excitement to be out of the shelter. She didn't bother me driving or try to come up front, but was definitely eager to stick her nose out of both rear windows and went back and forth. By the time we returned she seemed sleepy and showed her affectionate side, snoozing in the back seat with her nose near my leg. I would describe Charlie as eager to explore, curious, and semi independent (liked my company and welcomed pets, but had her mind set more on her next move/destination).
