CHANEL!

MEET CHANEL!<br/><br/>This little ray of sunshine is named Chanel (according to her paperwork) but we affectionately call her Shay or Shay Shay. Shay is around 10 years old and weighs a whopping 9 lbs. She joined us from a local shelter where she had been surrendered with a mouth full of infected teeth. The infection had caused an abscess through her poor little cheek. But the past is the past. She's all fixed up, feeling great and is ready to find the perfect home!<br/><br/>We'd guess Shay is some sort of Poodle/Maltese mix due to her physical appearance though we can't say for sure. She's currently in foster care where she is living with elementary/middle-school aged kids and absolutely adores them. She's sweet with everyone she meets. She also loves to play, cuddle, be picked up and held, and to chase her tail like a puppy (when she thinks no one is watching)! Shay also loves to carry socks around in her mouth like they are puppies and takes care to tuck the socks into her bed or other safe space so if you can't seem to find your socks' matches, check her bed!<br/><br/>Shay is currently in foster care with other dogs and doesn't really interact with them much. She's comfortable sharing her space with them but will do a bit of guarding of her food and "sock babies" (things she considers high value) though she does not guard them from her human friends. We think she'd do best in a home with low-key dogs who will give her space when needed. She'd also be totally comfortable as your one and only. Shay is also quite chatty! She'll bark when she knows people are walking by the house, when there's a lot of commotion in the house, or when she's trying to let you know she's ready to play. If you're looking for a quiet dog, Shay might not be the dog for you. But we think her chatty little puppy-like personality is what makes her so special. Shay is working on her housebreaking and will use pee pads if they're available.<br/><br/>Shay is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
