Meet Chancey! <br/><br/>Chancey is an 8-year-old, 49 lb, cream-colored Labrador Retriever with a heart as big as his smile — and yes, he really does smile! Ask him to, and he’ll flash you that big, toothy grin while wagging his tail like he’s known you forever. He does great out in public meeting people, but when he is at home, he wants to protect his turf so he will bark at strangers so a low traffic home is a must.<br/><br/>Chancey is wonderful with other dogs, though he likes to be the first one in and the first one out (it’s just his way of making sure everything’s in order). He’s fully housetrained and a true gentleman indoors.<br/><br/>Chancey’s past wasn’t easy — he and another dog were left in an abandoned home after their owner passed away. Family members did their best to care for them until Underdog Rescue stepped in to give them a new chance at life. Despite it all, Chancey’s spirit shines bright.<br/><br/>He loves his people deeply and wants to be part of everything they do. Because of this, he should not be left outside alone — it makes him anxious. He can also be protective of his home and will let you know when someone new arrives, but his loyalty and love are unmatched.<br/><br/>Chancey is ready for a forever family who will love him as fiercely as he loves them. Applicants are subject to a home visit, and veterinary references will be checked. Please include a vet reference (including phone number) when applying online.<br/><br/>Our application process:<br/>FIRST, an application must be approved for adoption from our rescue.<br/>SECOND, we determine whether the dog that has been applied for is a "good match" for the household that wants to adopt him/her. We take into consideration the dog's activity level, compatibility with other members of the household (human and other pets), etc.<br/>If your application has been approved, but the dog you applied for is no longer available, please take the time and look over our adoptable dogs again.
