Champ's Story

Champ has an amazing rescue story! He is a resilient, three-legged dog who was abandoned in rural Oklahoma and left to fend for himself. :(

He survived for 6 months on his own with nothing but his strength and the kindness of a local man who fed him and gained his trust.
Locals were able to get him to a vet where he needed a tooth pulled, and the slow kill method of heartworm treatment was started. He is on his last dose of his heartworm treatment! He is also neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and all preventatives.

Champ is 2 years old and has been living with a family that boards animals in their home, for several months. We are grateful to have found this option, but the cost ($140 a week) is becoming a financial burden.

Champ loves other nice dogs and is indifferent to dogs that are not dog friendly. He has good house manners. He's healthy and despite having only three legs, he still zooms around and is very cute! We think he would do great with an active family. He is good with a cat that boards there from time to time. Slightly older children would be good.

Champ has a humble heart that has been broken by his humans, but he continues to love and play and will be fur-ever grateful to the individual or family that chooses him. Please contact us if this could be you!
