Challah and Brioche's Story

Hi everyone, we’re Challah and Brioche and are 2 and 5 years old. We came from a horrible hoarding situation in New York where we were severely neglected. We’re incredibly nervous, but we find so much comfort in each other. We’ve gotten through everything side by side, and we’d really love to keep it that way.

Everything is new to us — leashes, pets, kind people. We’re just trying to figure it all out, and we hope our new family will be patient with us throughout this process. We also do some reactive barking, especially when there are barriers between us and something that worries us, like strangers. We’re learning, though — we just need time and patience.

A lot of things make us nervous, like quick sudden movements, but there are also things that bring us joy:

Playing together — we’re each other’s best friend!

Hard bones and plushy toys — we love both!

Treats — and yes, we’ll even gently take them from your hand once we trust you.

Being outside — we love to romp around in the yard!

Looking out for each other — always.

We absolutely need an understanding home with a secure, fully fenced-in yard. We’re not leash trained or housetrained yet, and the yard gives us a safe way to explore, decompress, and enjoy being outside without fear. We’re still figuring out how to trust people, but with a calm environment, consistency, and kindness, we know we can grow.

We would do well with another confident and friendly dog in the home, but we’re also perfectly happy just having each other.

If you’re looking for two loyal companions with an unbreakable bond and a ton of potential, we might be the perfect pair for you.

A lot of things make us nervous, like quick sudden movements, but there are also things that bring us joy:

Playing together — we’re each other’s best friend!

Hard bones and plushy toys — we love both!

Treats — and yes, we’ll even gently take them from your hand once we trust you.

Being outside — we love to romp around
