Challah's Story

Meet Challah — your future sidekick and snugglebug!

This sweet young mama, just about a year old and 12–14 lbs, arrived at Grateful Dogs Rescue with five bouncy puppies in tow (they’re also looking for homes!). She’s discovering the world for the first time—and doing it with wide-eyed wonder and a heart full of love.

Challah is an affectionate shadow, happiest curled up beside you or trotting along on your daily adventures. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a weekend hike, or errands around town, she’s game—and she even enjoys riding in a doggie backpack!

Though her past lacked care and guidance, she’s learning fast. Leash walks are new, but she’s eager to please and thrives with gentle encouragement. She’s mastered the doggie door and reliably potties outside. She’s athletic but not high-energy—just a couple of walks a day will keep her content.

Challah gets along well with other dogs but would also do fine as your one-and-only. She’s curious about toys (especially balls!) and is working on her fetch game. With her soulful eyes and quiet resilience, she’s ready to trade her rough start for a life filled with love.

Challah is accepting applications now however, she will not be ready to offically pack her bags until 10/08/2025. Apply now and meet her and let's start the fall with a new BFF!

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for CHALLAH is $300.

If you are interested in adopting CHALLAH , please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

See our other available dogs at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/
