Weighing just seven pounds, this tiny girl is half Toy Poodle, part Maltese, part Shih Tzu, and one hundred percent heart melter. She is the kind of companion who wins people over in seconds with bright eyes and enthusiastic little kisses!<br/><br/>Chai is incredibly loving and social. She greets friends and friendly strangers alike with happy tail wags and affectionate smooches, and she truly thrives when surrounded by her people. During boarding stays, she blossoms when she has a dog buddy close to her size and temperament, plus attentive humans nearby. She would be compatible with a calm couple or homebodies who enjoy companionship, daytime outings, and cozy evenings in. She happily hops into her carrier to join you for lunch dates or shopping trips, then transforms into a world class snuggler at bedtime. She also sleeps contentedly in her padded crate.<br/><br/>She is a bright, sensitive girl who forms deep bonds with her people. She does experience separation anxiety and can feel unsettled when left alone for longer stretches. Thunderstorms, fireworks and loud noises can also heighten her anxiety, so she benefits from gentle reassurance, structure, and continued confidence building using positive reinforcement training.<br/><br/>Chai truly enjoys children and lights up when it’s time to run and play! However, because she is such a tiny girl, she would be most comfortable in a home with older, gentle children or thoughtful adults who understand how delicate little dogs can be and will handle her with extra care and kindness. Chai knows sit, down, up, and yes, and she loves puzzle toys stuffed with chewy training treats. She is food motivated, eager to please, and wonderfully responsive to patient guidance.<br/><br/>Health wise, she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and house-trained. She manages mild seasonal allergies and a grade three luxating patella in her back left leg, which requires monitoring and minimal stairs.
