Meet Chad! <br/><br/>Chad is a 3-year-old Pit Mix with a big smile, a goofy personality, and an even bigger heart. I weight 43 lbs. This lovable guy is always ready to make you laugh and will happily trade his silliness for snuggles any day. He's the kind of dog who wants to be right by your side—whether that's on the couch or tagging along for your next adventure. He is very friendly, does great with kids, and is an all-around happy, people-loving boy. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. He has a good amount of energy, so he'll thrive in an active home that enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. The best part? Chad will be heading into RPSM's prison training program, where he'll be learning his manners and polishing up his skills to be the best companion possible. He's already amazing—this training will just make him shine even more.<br/><br/>Chad is neutered and UTD on all his vaccines. HW, FT, and has a microchip of my own. RPSM recommends children 6 years and older. Chad will require a fenced in yard either physical or underground; if you are interested in adopting Chad, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. Chad's adoption fee is $300.

Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan's Adoption Policy

RPSM Adoption Process Fill out the online Adoption Application at www.rpsm.org Once RPSM receives your application, we will contact your references, including your veterinarian(s). Please inform them that an RPSM volunteer will be calling them so that we are able to reach them in a timely fashion. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to schedule a 30-60 minute home visit to meet you and your family. (RPSM requires that all members of your household MUST be present for the entirety of the home visit.) The RPSM Board of Directors will then review your application, reference information, and home visit report in order to determine if you and your family are a good fit for the requested dog. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to notify you if you are approved or denied. If your adopted dog is still in the Prison Program, you have the option of receiving weekly reports regarding his/her progress via e-mail. Once your adopted dog is paroled or if your dog is not enrolled in the Prison Program, an RPSM volunteer will schedule a date to meet your dog. If the meeting proceeds smoothly, you will be able to take your new family member home that day, after the adoption paperwork is complete. Enjoy your new life and adventure together! Each adopter receives an adoption kit, which includes all medical paper work, helpful hints on how to help your new pet adjust to his/her new environment, coupons, and if applicable; training commands, signals and a letter from the trainer about your new best friend. **RPSM cannot be 100% certain of a particular breed of any dog on our site, it is the best guess at a predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
