ChaCha's Story

INTRODUCING CHACHA
Chacha is an estimated 8-year-old Havanese, weighing 11 lbs, who is beginning her second chance at life. After being released from a breeder and suspected mishandling, she is slowly learning what love, safety, and kindness truly feel like.
Despite everything she’s been through, she has never shown aggression or attempts to bite, even in her most fearful moments. She is a gentle soul who simply needs patience and understanding while she learns to trust. Slow, calm approaches help her feel safe, especially when being picked up or handled.
She is kennel trained and currently working hard on potty training. She loves pulled chicken and will come to take it gently from your hand. Every week she makes tiny steps forward in trusting, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch her confidence grow.
She does very well with other dogs and truly benefits from having canine companions around her. Another calm, confident dog in the home would help show her the ropes and encourage her to continue her journey to trust. She especially enjoys being outside with her people & dogs, roaming the yard, and learning how to let loose of her fears and be a dog.
Because of her fearful nature, she is looking for a very patient, quiet home without children. A secure fenced yard attached to the home is required so she can safely explore and build confidence at her own pace.
This girl will not be an instant “perfect companion,” but for the right person willing to give her time, compassion, and consistency, the bond you earn with her will be something truly special. She has waited 8 long years to have a chance at happiness and a family!
She is completely vetted including a fresh dental.
Chacha’s adoption fee is $200. Applications can be submitted at www.heartrescueteam.com
(secure fenced yard attached to home required)
