Celeste's Story
Meet Celeste. This sweet mom and her two pups had their world turned upside down when their human family was suddenly deported. The dogs were left behind, abandoned in the home with no thought about their welfare.

Thankfully, extended family stepped in to care for them temporarily, but they don’t have the time or resources to manage three dogs and are moving out of town. A local animal advocate learned of the situation and reached out to Worthy Dog for help.

It’s a heartbreaking situation, and we want to support Celeste and her pups and give their displaced family some peace of mind knowing their dogs are safe.

Celeste appears to be a beagle mix and has a sweet, social, and affectionate personality. She was clearly loved as a family dog and has lived with young kids and other dogs. She is crate-trained, and we believe she has decent leash skills. She sits for her harness to be put on, but also pulls. Structured leash walks are likely new to her but practice makes perfect.

She settled in quickly to her new foster home, living wtih her foster mom and dad and their budding senior pup who looks like he could be her brother. She's proven to have excellent house manners, and we've learned she loves to play fetch, too. Celeste is very trusting of her humans; she's already been bathed and has no issues being touched on her paws or ears.

Celeste will transfer to her foster home next week after being spayed, and we’ll share more updates as we get to know her.
