Cece's Story

Meet Cece

Cece is a 1.5-year-old cattle dog/heeler mix who seems to have missed the memo about being “independent.” Her true calling is full-time sweetheart, professional cuddler, and devoted co-pilot. At just 29 pounds, she’s the perfect size for snuggling close without stealing the whole couch.

This girl is a total house angel. No accidents, no chaos, just a gentle girl who would happily spend her days curled up with her person, taking the occasional fetch break when the mood strikes. She’s wonderful in the car and would gladly tag along for every errand, window cracked, ears relaxed. Her prized possession is her Lamb Chop toy, carefully selected during a very important shopping trip

Cece does need to be the only dog in the home and is looking for someone who can be around most of the time. She’s showing some separation anxiety, and while that may improve with time and stability, right now she feels safest when her people are close. She can be kenneled for short periods, but her happiest place is tucked in next to the humans she loves.

Her dream home is calm, low-key, and full of companionship. A retired person or couple would be perfect, but most of all, she’s searching for someone who wants a loyal shadow and a heart-on-four-legs. Cece doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She just wants to be someone’s whole world… and she promises to love them right back with everything she’s got.

If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list.

The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
