Cauliflower's Story

Meet the VEGGIES!! The veggies have been in our care since the end of April! These guys needed A LOT of decompression time. The Veggies were left alone in a home for 7 days before anyone realized that they were there. When animal control arrived it was heart breaking. They were living in deplorable conditions roaming in and out of the home through a hole in the house. On day one we were able to catch 3 of them. On days two and three we had no luck catching them. We attempted to use live traps with again, no luck. These guys had learned that people could not be trusted. After a week of trying to round everyone up we called in the assistance of Seymour animal control. And two days later we had everyone caught and safe. Three of the Veggies went to Indigos Rescue and Sanctuary where they will be adopted out. And the other 8 came here where they have been decompressing ever since. The veggies are still scared and still need a home who understands everything that they have been through! They LOVE the outside! They turn into the happiest little creatures you have ever seen when they go outside to play! We see a new side of them every day.
Enjoy all the photos! We couldn't just choose a few!
These guys are assumed to be beagle terrier mixes! They range from 10-42lbs!
Potato- a 2 year old male weighing 29lbs
Carrot- a 6 month old male weighing 17lbs
Green bean- a 2 year old male weighing 15.6lbs
Cauliflower- a 2 year old female weighing 23lb
Bok Choy- a 2 year old long haired male weighing 42lbs
Kale- a 2 year old male weighing 39lbs
Al and Elenor were also from this home, but these guys have since been placed in a foster home!!
If you are interested in any of these guys please call us at 812-358-2141 option 4!
