Casper's Story

Hi, I’m Casper! I’m a very special boy that is both deaf and blind. Don’t worry though, I’m still as feisty and fun as ever! We are not sure of my exact birthdate, but we think I am around 3 months old. I was found as a homeless pup with 6 of my siblings, and I have been getting used to living in a home with one of my brothers since November 1st.

I have a lot to learn, but pick up on room layouts and routines pretty quickly. So far, I respond well to vibrations and higher pitched noises. A hanging bell has been helpful for starting potty training. I do well in a crate and bark when I need to go potty, but I’m still learning not to have accidents in my crate and in the home. I currently sleep in a crate overnight and periodically throughout the day when my foster mom is working, but would love to find a family that can dedicate consistent time to helping me learn so I can grow into an well mannered adult doggo.

I love to snuggle with my foster mom and I whine when I cant tell where she is if I get confused. I’m happiest near my human and would love to be someone’s bff and shadow! I like toys that I can smell, squeaky toys due to their high pitch, and toys that I can chew and really take my time with.

What am I looking for? I do very well with the 2 year old human that I live with, but would need to be in a home with children that can help me learn and respect my quirks and needs. My training will be different compared to other puppies due to my special needs, so I will need a family who will dedicate lots of time and patience. I love to be playful with my brother, but since I can’t hear or see, I would do best with animals that don’t come on too strong at first as I get nervous and confused. Animals who can respect my space and help me acclimate slowly would be best.

Casper's adoption fee is $500, which includes: his alter, a microchip, his rabies and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.

If you think he may be perfect for you, please apply using the link below!

https://www.cognitoforms.com/NorthPawRescue/NorthPawRescueDogAdoptionApplication

**Unfortunately, we cannot adopt out to Canada at this time.

**We require a 60 minute adoption radius. This dog is currently being fostered in Spencerport, NY.
