Cash's Story

Cash was rescued from the euthanasia list at a Houston shelter

Cash came to us scared and with a paw injury that he is still recovering from, but quickly came out of his shell in his foster home. He is very gentle and has a strong desire to bond and please - his cutest quirk is giving leg and foot hugs when he's excited to see his people (he grabs onto a leg and doesn't want to let go until he gets head or belly rubs!). With his foot injury still healing, we are taking only short walks with Cash but he is walking very loose-leashed so far, although he is interested in squirrels so could become a bit of a puller in the future - he has no reactivity to dogs, people, cats, cars that he encounters on his walks. Cash has been very good with other dogs in his foster home, as well as cats - he gives neutral greets and respects other animals' space. He is learning to be more comfortable hanging out inside the house (so far, he is happiest hanging out next to his foster when she's working from home or chilling/napping in the yard in the great fall weather), but has had no accidents and is crate trained. Cash is also discovering toys and is enjoying squeaky soft toys that he bounces around the yard with and has learned to fetch a ball! Cash is a gem of a dog and would make a wonderful moderate energy level, very loving and gentle companion.

Cash is being fostered in near Beaumont, TX.
