Carol's Story

Meet Carol, a beautiful Husky/German Shepherd mix.
Her birthday is estimated to be on 1/11/26 and has been bottle-raised from day two as she was found in a box with her siblings, The Brady Bunch, while their umbilical cords were still attached. She is incredibly loyal and attaches very quickly to her humans. Carol is a total lovebug as well as a clumsy comedian.

Carol knows sit, lay down, leave it, up (on obstacle), shake, and wait(stay). She has decent leash walking skills and learns quickly but will occasionally overthink situations so she prefers low traffic areas. She loves hiking, car rides, and doggy daycare(currently attends Inavale in Philomath with her foster mom) she is also pretty used to grooming and her ears/paws being touched as well as not minding the blower(she does shed quite a bit so the blower will be necessary!)
Huskies are her absolute favorite playmates as she was raised with some. She does have a rough play-style and would do best in a home with another playful or tolerant dog. She would also be fine as a solo pet as she really loves people attention to herself.

She has a great off-switch and loves cuddling. Fireworks and thunder do not bother her. You just need to watch your socks as she still has puppy tendacies! She was raised with with a toddler so she does great with respectful kids, but be mindful that she does get the zoomies and gives "corncob" nibbles when you scratch her in just the right spot! She is fine with cats but crowds their space and will occasionally chase them if they run. Carol is mostly potty-trained and kennel-trained but she still has occasional accidents if not kenneled at night time. She does whine in her kennel and occasionally barks or howls if left alone as she does have a bit of separation anxiety. She would not do great in an apartment. Strange things like blow-up Halloween decorations confuse her. She can sometimes be protective on a leash around strange dogs or big men and will let out a warning growl at times as there was an incident when she was younger when an off leash dog charged at her and the owners ran over yelling. She had a bit of anxiety for a while after that so we wanted to work with her and do some training before she was ready for her forever home. However, she is very food motivated and has been gaining a lot of confidence since then. She is non-reactive, just sometimes gets startled and needs space from a situation.
Positive reinforcement has worked wonders for her along the way, and Carol has also recently graduating from Valley Wags obedience training in Corvallis! She just needs a patient leader to show her the ropes and love her as much as she deserves which is a whole lot!
