CARMEN's Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Can she show you her toys? Sweet mama Carmen deserves a second chance Carmen is only two years old and was found wandering the streets hungry and neglected. It’s clear she was used for breeding and then dumped, and no dog deserves that. She’s been in the shelter now for almost two months and can be scared and shy in her kennel, but once you get to know her, her true personality shines. Carmen loves people and absolutely lights up when she gets pets and attention. She may take a moment to warm up, but when she does, she’s affectionate and happy to be by your side. She loves to run and play and could go forever with a big smile on her face. She walks well on leash, appears to be housetrained, comes when called, and gets along well with other dogs. She’s had several playgroups and especially loved her day at the water park, where she made lots of canine friends and had what was probably her best day ever. Carmen is ready to leave her past behind and find a forever home filled with love, safety, and kindness. Please come meet this sweet girl and show her that forever really does exist. Her friends at @Pet_HealthWorks have kindly covered her adoption fee and she gets to go home with goodies for her tummy and teeth. If you can’t adopt, please share her post. We adopt out of state, but you must make the arrangements to pick up your new pet. To meet Carmen, or any other pet visit humanebroward.com and complete the pre-adoption application. The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. and appointments are not required. The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 and if you have any questions call 954-989-3977.
