Carmelo's Story
Carmelo was surrendered when his family could no longer give him the love and home that he deserves. At only 2 years old Carmelo has many years to dedicate to his furever family. Nothing he would love more is to run and play in a fenced back yard with kids or adults. He can be playfully mouthy so he is not recommended for young kids, and we do prefer that adopters are chihuahua savvy, as these tiny pups can sometimes turn into a spicy handful. Carmelo is a sweetheart and he needs a family that will continue to socialize him and show him that the world isn’t too scary and that you’ll protect him so he can relax and enjoy life. He’s a good sidekick in a car, he just sits or lies down in his car seat. Carmelo loves to play with toys with his people friends and of course he loves to go for walks. He has a pretty quick speed despite the size of his tiny legs. He loves to snuggle to sleep, right now he has 2 speeds - on and off. He is crate trained. Foster mom uses an airline crate because in the past he has pulled things into a wire crate to chew, so this type of crate works just fine and gives him his own little man-cave. Carmelo doesn’t have an issue wearing a belly band in the house until he knows his new routine. Carmelo lives with other dogs in his foster home. He can be a bully to some, and he can annoy others by being “too much”. He doesn’t need to live with another dog as long as he gets enough attention, he doesn’t care where it’s coming from. As far as a cat, one swat would put him in his place if he wasn’t give kitty the space it needs. If you would like to meet him, we first ask that you complete an application to see if you’re a possible good fit for each other. Carmie is neutered, UTD on vaccines, heart worm and Lyme tests negative. Email us for an application Aolanimalrescue@gmail.com
