Carlile's Story

Carlile is a petite, female German Shepherd that was part of a group of 5 that were dumped in Snoqualmie, emaciated and in filthy condition. She was the least dominant of the group and had multiple wounds on her face and head, likely from fighting for food, possibly due to abuse as well.

While all the dogs were afraid of just about everything in the world around them, Carlile has had the hardest time adjusting. Thanks to some time with a couple of wonderful fosters and her time with a trainer focused on improving her confidence and experiences with new people and other dogs, she is now a dog that will be an excellent family member and companion.

Carlile weighs 50lbs and we believe she’s approximately 2 years old. Her birthdate on 10/1/2023 on here is a guesstimate. She is current on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.

Carlile loves attention and will now seek it from people but is also very independent. She will come to you for some love and then be on her way to explore. She would do great in a home with dog-savvy children.

While working with her confidence trainer, Carlile was exposed to dogs with varying energy levels. When she spent time with a calm energy dog, she mimicked that energy and mannerisms. With a medium energy dog, she was tolerant but had no problem telling the other dog when they were being too much. With high energy dogs, Carlile is uncomfortable and doesn’t do well with them. Given this, she would do great in a home with another low or medium energy dog. She would also be perfectly happy on her own.

We do not recommend that Carlile play at dog parks or other situations where there are a lot of off leash dogs. With her history she would likely be overwhelmed.

and leash.
