Shots are up to date until September 2025. Fixed and microchipped. Benefits from a weekly ear cleaning with Epiotic Advanced ear cleanser. He is not particularly thrilled to have his ears cleaned, but you can hold him to do it. This helps avoid the ear infections that are typical with his breed.

Personality/Temperament:
House trained. Go pee (when it is raining and needs encouragement to go!). Down (when he is too enthusiastic). Food! Wait (when he is prancing for his dinner dish).
Loves head rubs, any sort of attention. Will sit on your feet or lean against your legs, and be absolutely still for as long as you will rub his head and ears.
Can destroy a good chew toy, so we get him the heavy duty ones! Our daughter was 9 when we first adopted him, and he loves her. Captain often does not know his own size. As he has matured, he has gotten way better at obeying when told not to jump and/or to calm down. But he errs on the enthusiastic side, not the calm restrained side. Captain can do well with other dogs his size. He benefits from a deliberate introduction. He could probably do well with dogs in general, however he would need some better training.

Not really much of a barker when at home. Puppy Mill Rescue Team 's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION POLICIES The Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s dogs are placed into adoptive homes within 60 miles of the foster home. We have foster homes in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Macedonia, OH. When applying for a specific dog please check the profile to see where the dog is located. If you are not in this area and are looking to adopt, we recommend that you visit our Rescue Partners area or Petfinder.com to locate a rescue in your area. A legally binding Adoption Agreement must be signed at the time a dog is placed. The adoption donation varies and is included in the dog’s description on the website as well as in the Adoption Agreement. Adoption donations are not negotiable and payment must be made in full prior to or at the time of the placement of the dog. Please read prior to submission of an application for adoption. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
