Caper's Story

Caper is a one year old energetic pup who loves to run in the yard with her similar or larger sized friends. She is a strong girl, who wrestles for hours, plays tug and ball, and basks in the sun.

She is very smart and treat motivated, walks politely on a leash (a little pulling to meet someone new!), and is house and crate trained. She knows "sit", "down", "come", "potty time", "go to bed" (crate), "no ma'am", and "drop it" (mostly). She is a quick learner and loves liver training treats.

Caper is very cuddly once her energy has been depleted- she has a loud snore and will sprawl contentedly on a dog bed while you cook dinner or watch tv. She loves belly rubs and will flop down and show her whole big stretch belly for attention! She likes to be around people and other pets, but can also amuse herself with a toy or chew treat.

Caper's ideal home would come with an athletic human who is looking for an adventure buddy! She loves to take long walks or hikes, and with patience could become a really great running partner! She would also love a fenced yard and a similar sized or larger playmate. Caper is a strong enthusiastic girl, and would be best suited to a home with older children. She is a bit over enthusiastic with smaller pets.

Caper has shown no signs of food or toy aggression, and is unconcerned when her feet and mouth are inspected. She loves being touched and groomed!

Her favorite things are nylabones, frozen stuffed Kongs, yak chews, stuffies with squeakers, wrestling with her athletic dog friends, and people!

Caper got her name from her bird dog appearance- she is named for a species of grouse, Capercaillie.
