Canelita's Story

Canelita is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart, a silly streak, and a personality that truly shines once she feels safe. She can be shy at first, especially with new people, but give her a little time and space, and she blossoms into a sweet, playful companion who loves belly rubs, soft toys, and being close to her trusted humans.

Canelita is a great balance of fun and cozy. She enjoys zoomies and playful chase sessions outside, then happily settles in for snuggles and pets. She bonds by sitting next to you, asking for affection, and engaging in play. Food is definitely the way to her heart, and she loves treats, toppers, and enrichment toys that keep her busy.

Canelita would do best in a calm, patient home, ideally with adults or older kids (10+) where her boundaries are respected and she’s allowed to warm up at her own pace. She can be a bit vocal and is still working on potty and leash skills, but she’s making progress and does best in a harness. She isn’t particularly interested in other dogs, but she’s very curious about cats and enjoys watching them from a safe distance.

This little lady has a few ongoing health considerations, including mild dental needs and luxating patellas that will need lifelong monitoring, but she’s currently stable and feeling good. Regular grooming will help keep her unique, wiry coat comfortable and mat-free.

Canelita may take a moment to trust, but once she does, you’ll have a loyal, affectionate, and endlessly charming companion. especially when she pops up on her hind legs like a tiny Lorax. She’s looking for someone kind, patient, and ready to let her be exactly who she is.

Canelita is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
