Canary's Story

Canary is a two-year-old, 39-pound Cattle dog/German Shepherd mix with a bright spirit and so much potential waiting to shine. This sweet girl has a playful heart and a happy personality that comes out once she feels comfortable with the people around her.

Canary can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she has done well with everyone who has handled her here. Once she settles in, her fun-loving side emerges and she shows just how much she enjoys playtime and companionship. She is a smart and capable dog who recently spent five days at Paddock’s Paws for a board-and-train program. While there, she impressed the trainers with her intelligence, adaptability, and willingness to learn.

Canary does struggle with dog reactivity and may behave defensively around other dogs, possibly due to difficult experiences in her past. Because of this, she will do best in a home where she can be the only dog and receive the understanding and guidance she needs to feel safe. With patience and consistency, Canary has every chance to thrive.

This special girl will reward her future family with loyalty, affection, and the joy of watching her grow into an exceptional companion.

Canary’s $250 adoption fee includes spay surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.

To meet Canary, call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment, or visit Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for walk-ins.
