Cammie's Story

Cammie finds herself back with our rescue after losing her home yet again. She originally came to us from Texas last year after being found stray. Blind and deaf, this approximately 13 year old 10 pound poodle proved to be resilient.

When we originally had Cammie, she needed surgery to remove mammary cancer. Since that surgery, Cammie has stayed cancer free. Cammie has a congenital eye abnormality so has been blind for a long time. We learned that after a few days of roomba-ing around the house, she quickly figures out the lay of the land and all the best beds.

Cammie needs to stay flea free as she has an allergy to the parasite, so a home with only flea treated pets is a must. In fact, flea allergy is sadly why Cammie came back to us.

Cammie is potty and crate trained. She is good with other animals in that she mostly ignores them. Cammie hates being overhandled so we recommend a home without young children. She can get very snappy when scared or if she’s picked up and not expecting it. But once Cammie trusts you, she’ll ask for pets and belly rubs.

We are not asking an adoption fee for Cammie. We hope this will encourage someone to take a chance on her and give her a place to retire. We are hoping for a quiet home with someone who will just let her be. A securely fenced yard and no access to. stairs is a must.

Cammie doesn’t deserve to be shuffled around like this. Do you have it in your heart to finally give her a forever home?
Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
