Camila's Story
Camila / Female / Approx. 1 Year / 25 lbs / Lab X / Good with Dogs / Untested with Kids / Untested with Cats / From Mexico / Fostered in Toronto

**Follow Camila’s journey on Instagram: @flexlieville

Camila’s story starts in a severely overcrowded home where resources were limited, but you’d never know it meeting her today. She has held onto all the good. She’s joyful, social, and full of love, just waiting for a family to call her own.

Camila is a playful, affectionate girl with a big personality packed into a smaller frame. She gives generous kisses, loves being held, and is happiest when she’s close to her people. She enjoys chew toys, playing with other dogs, and proudly digging holes purely for sport. Her self-declared dream job is excavator operator (unionized, of course). She’s also got a bit of a diva side… mirrors are her absolute favourite, and she’ll happily wag and admire herself.

With people she knows, Camila is incredibly friendly- quick to greet you with tail wags, kisses, and sometimes a little jump up to say hello. With new people, she can be a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly when approached gently, offering a wag or a sweet lick once she feels comfortable. She hasn’t been formally tested with children but, based on her temperament, she would likely do well with respectful, dog-savvy kids who let her come to them.

Camila would thrive in a home that can offer her a balance of play, routine, and affection. She has a medium puppy energy level and would benefit from regular walks, enrichment, and opportunities to burn off some of her playful curiosity. She’s still gaining confidence with the outside world. Loud noises can startle her, but she’s already showing resilience and continues to improve with exposure and support. She would appreciate a quiet neighbourhood, and would not be suitable for big city living. A home where someone is around more often than not (or works hybrid) would suit her best.

Camila is very dog social and absolutely loves other dogs. She currently lives with another dog and has shown wonderful play skills, no resource guarding, and great companionship. She would make an excellent second dog, though she could also thrive as the centre of attention in a home committed to her continued development. She has not been tested with cats yet and is currently looking for a cat-free home, though her temperament suggests she may be able to adapt with proper introductions.

Like any young dog, Camila is still learning. Her house training is a work in progress, and she is not yet crate trained, though she settles well and adapts quickly to routine with consistency. She is eager to learn, food motivated, and already picking up basic skills; she’ll flourish with continued positive reinforcement and structure.

Camila is the kind of dog who will make you laugh, keep you company, and fill your home with warmth. With a little guidance and a lot of love, she’s going to grow into an incredibly loyal, fun, and affectionate companion.

If you’re interested in adopting Camila, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form

Camila’s adoption fee is $850.
