Cami's Story

Cami, my Chamomile, I can't believe that we are here. Cami has been a true miracle since coming into our rescue. She made her way to us, truly days away from wasting away. She was confiscated due to being severely neglected. A 40-45 lb dog full grown, made her way to us at 19-20 lbs. She was covered in fly bites and wounds. She had every reason to trust no one and still she melted away in our arms.
Cami is truly the a true example of resilience. She is the sweetest girl you will ever meet and just wants to cuddle with you on the couch, while you rub her head. She is beauty and grace, but she is however learning what it's like to be a puppy who feels GOOD. With that being said, sometimes when she wants to play she can be a little mouthy. She is capable of being redirected and trained, however for this reason I do think that kids above 10 would be best for her. This isn't because she isn't soft and gentle, she is, but she's learning and needs children confident enough to help her!
She is dog friendly but definitely has a playful personality so she would do best with a dog that meets her excitement.
She is playful and energetic but absolutely has an off switch so she can be happy in different energy levels of a home. She is crate trained. She is working on potty training and is probably like 80-85% there, it's obvious that she lived outside for a while but we have come so far! She loves running around in the back yard but also does great on a harness when going for walks. If you bring some treats, she'll do whatever you ask!
Anyone would be lucky to have Cami as apart of their forever family. The joy that she brings to everyone she meets is contagious and I truly can't get enough. Cami deserves a home that can continue showing her that not all people are bad. Cami deserves a home that is patient and helps her continue gaining confidence and routine.
If you are interested in being considered a forever home for Cami, apply directly. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Her adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and microchip. Cami is currently being fostered in Chicago and does have an open adoption radius for the right fit. Adopter must be willing to meet and finalize in Chicago.
