Calvin's Story

Meet **Calvin** 🐾🀎

If you built a dog out of sunshine and second chances, you'd get Calvin.

He's a petite, medium-sized beagle mix with soulful eyes and that classic "let's go see what's next" energy. We're guessing he's somewhere between 4 and 7 years old, which puts him in that golden era of doghood. Old enough to know a thing or two, young enough to still bounce into life with enthusiasm.

Calvin is friendly in the best way. He doesn't overthink it. He just likes people. He greets you like you've been expected all day. There's a zest to him, a little spark that says he's not done adventuring yet.

We believe he was potty trained at some point in his life. As with any dog adjusting to a new home, he'll need a refresher course to learn your routine. But he's a smart guy, and with consistency and patience, he should settle right back into good habits.

Now here's the part where Calvin needs a hero.

He is heartworm positive, which means he will need a calm, stable place to undergo treatment. It's a lengthy process that requires rest and low stress. A busy shelter is not the ideal place for long-term healing. He needs a foster, an adopter, or even a foster-to-adopt situation where he can relax, recover, and focus on getting healthy.

The good news? We'll guide you through the process and support his treatment plan. He just needs a soft place to land.

Calvin previously lived with several other dogs and did well, so we believe he'd likely do fine in a home with other dogs. Given his friendly, easygoing nature, we also think he would likely do well with kids and even cats.

He's not asking for perfect. He's asking for steady. A couch. A routine. A person willing to give him the time and quiet he needs to heal.

If you've ever thought about fostering, about being the bridge between hard chapters and happy endings, Calvin is waiting. And once he's feeling his best, that zest for life is going to be something special to witness. 🐢✨
