Calhoun's Story
Update: we have been told that his mom was a 60 lb Asian shepherd mix (possibly mixed with lab), and the dad was a 50 lb poodle. So he is not going to be nearly as big as we previously thought.

Calhoun is an 11-week-old puppy (DOB 1/2/26) with a story that started tough but is already turning into something special. He came into rescue in need of urgent medical care, including treatment for severe ear infections and hernia repair surgery, and he has been an absolute trooper through it all. Now healthy and healing, Calhoun is ready to find the home he deserves.

This sweet boy is incredibly people-oriented and happiest right by your side—he’ll gently nudge you for attention and happily roll over for belly rubs any chance he gets. He’s doing wonderfully with both dogs and cats and has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes him an easy fit in a loving home. His foster mom says he is one of the very best puppies she has ever fostered—and she has fostered a lot—so that’s saying something. Because he thrives on human connection, we’re looking for a home where someone is around more often than not to give him the love and companionship he craves. This special boy is truly the whole package and ready to be someone’s best friend for life.

SOUTH CAROLINA ADOPTIONS ONLY!!!

Adoption fee: $500 (includes vaccines to date, microchip, hernia repair and neuter surgery).
Apply at www.lakesideanimalrescue.com
