CAL is a gorgeous 5 year old, black mouth cur/hound mix. This big boy weighs 75 pounds. He is a big goofball. He is so funny & will entertain you endlessly. Cal loves ear rubs and ALL the toys! Cal would do great as an only dog, but has lived with others as well. CAL loves his hoomans, and he's great with people & kids. He is very loving and eager to please. He tends to be the alpha dog if there are other male dogs around. He tolerates other dogs, but truly would be the PERFECT only family dog! He is smart & motivated. He does well on leash . He is house & crate trained. He is very compliant and gets into his crate when directed. Cal's looks are striking. His photos don't do him justice. Cal is ready to find a furever family where he can grow old in a loving home. He needs a family who enjoys outdoors and loves to walk, hike, or play fetch in the backyard. <br/><br/>Due to Cal's long-term stay with the rescue, his adoption fee is waived. He is up-to-date with his vaccines, neutered, Heartworm Negative & microchipped. <br/><br/>IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED for CAL's new furever family we require the following:<br/><br/>*Cal's family needs to be fairly physically active. Cal enjoys outside & needs to get regular exercise. He does fine alone during the day, but needs a vigorous walk or playtime everyday. <br/>*Cal requires a fully fenced yard. <br/>* Experienced pet home with verifiable vet references/history preferred, but we realize that everyone has to start somewhere, so all applications will be considered.<br/>*Verifiable good veterinary history INCLUDING regular vaccination/visits and Good Heartworm Prevention history is a MUST!<br/>*Adopter must be able to have time to spend with the pup and be able to provide the pup a safe environment to live.<br/>*ALL our dogs are expected to be primarily INSIDE dogs. They MUST sleep inside the home. We truly understand that some folks have working dogs (i.e. farmers, ranchers,etc); however, the majority of our dogs have had a rough life prior to coming to us & we want to make sure that they are showered with LUV & maybe even a bit spoiled for the rest of their lives. <br/><br/>Other facts are also considered, including whether children or other pets are a good fit with the dog. <br/><br/>Must Luv Dogs reserves the right to deny any applications that we don't think are a good fit with the pup. Our first & foremost concern is the dog's best interest. It is our MISSION to place them in a home that is a great fit for their needs for a lifetime of luv & being part of a family.<br/><br/>*We will consider adoptions in any area; however, will do not ship or transport a puppy under the age of 12 mos. We will ONLY transport an adult dog on a transport approved by MLD, at adopter's expense.<br/><br/>Please note that all of our pets are in private foster homes. In order to reduce any stress or confusion for our pups, we require a completed, approved application BEFORE setting up a meeting for any of fur-babies.
