Cactus's Story

Cactus is an easy dog who settles in quickly. He walks beautifully on a leash and can handle a couple of miles without a problem. He eats well, though he prefers wet food since he no longer has teeth.

He loves cuddling and will happily sit next to you while you watch TV. He goes potty outside when you tell him to, and he sleeps through the night without issues. He is very punctual about breakfast and loves a routine. In the beginning he did well when left alone. Now that he has bonded a bit, he cries for a short time but settles and goes back to sleep. He loves his warm little bed and also seems to enjoy couches. Cactus likes to let his family know of any suspicious activity outside, like an Amazon driver or a wild squirrel. However, he is quiet when he knows that his family is in the room with him. He does like attention and will give a bark or beg if you ignore him (which, how can you when he is this cute?!). Cactus is great in the car and doesn't mind a longer trip. He is famous in his neighborhood for giving his trademark begging dance and for going on his daily walks. Cactus loves sleeping on his foster mom's chest, getting tons of cuddles whenever she watches TV in the evening. It is a lovely ritual they have that he looks forward to. Overall he listens well, walks great on a leash, eats well, and is potty trained in his foster home. He loves long walks and being cuddled. He will make a sweet, steady companion for someone who appreciates a gentle, affectionate dog.
