Caboodle's Story

Are you looking to add some handsomeness to your daily life? Look no further as Caboodle has the looks, the brawn, and the sweetest heart (Is he the whole kit and caboodle??). Originally a stray who was not claimed, this hunk is looking for a companion that will take him on walks, spoil him with a good toy, and loves to snuggle. While he’s a muscular pup, he walks very well on leash, and is getting familiar with wearing a harness. He’s not vocal often but when he is, it’s laughable as they are sounds of snorts and sweet howls. We mentioned he loves a good toy and those toys in his next home should be for strong chewers as he can make them go "poof" quickly.

With Caboodle's prior history being unknown to us, we are not sure if he has any exposure previously to cats or children. Caboodle has shown us he is not interested in being friends with other dogs, so he'd like a home without other animals, and would probably not do well on a walking route with lots of other dogs.

He has a big bark he likes to show off when he first sees someone, but the toss of a treat turns him into your friend for life. Caboodle likes to stare deeply into your soul, and it can be a bit disconcerting when you are first getting to know him. In the dog world, it's rude to stare, so we wonder if he might have a bit of an eyesight issue, and he's just taking longer to process what he's seeing.

He recently had an overnight with a staff member, and he rode great in the car, was polite and calm in her home, followed her like a shadow, and loved getting under the covers in bed. He'd be just as happy to take over your bed, and to be your constant companion.

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Caboodles's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Caboodle.
