BW's Story

My name is Bubba (BW) and I absolutely love people, big and small. All people are met with a wagging tail and I truly never have met a stranger - everyone is welcome to give me pets and head and butt scratches. I'm as loyal a dog as they come and my current foster family adores me, but they also want to try and save other dogs so they're looking for a new home for me. They found me wandering around their property one day and have learned a lot about me in my 3 months with them.

They say I'm snuggly, great at keeping critters away from the house, house trained, crate trained and (eventually) good with other dogs. It took me a few weeks to get used to my current step-bro (Rascal, a 10-year old chocolate lab) but with a good system and a little patience, we're now best friends.
I am the BEST teller of time, as I know exactly when I should get breakfast and dinner, and will even show you my "happy dance" when it's time to eat if that helps you remember.
My family also calls me a good "sous chef" as I like hanging out in the kitchen when dinner is being made and feel free to thank me for my help by offering up treats, which are welcome but never...well, who am I kidding - treats are always expected. I also seem to know a lot of basic commands - sit, stay, lay down, no, back - and my current foster family is doing their best to help me remember these and keep up with my manners.

My vet says I'm around 4 years old and I have a slight overbite, but nothing major it seems (but it does make for some funny photos!). I get about 30 minutes of exercise a day 5-6 days a week (sometimes a long walk; sometimes a nice jog), and that seems to be more than enough exercise for me these days. I absolutely love being outside and outdoors and if there's some sunshine on the ground - inside or outside of the house - that's where you can usually find me.

My only challenge, really, is that I sometimes forget that I'm built like a 60 pound bowling ball and your shins might pay the price every now and again. I also like playing "keep away" with toys with my step-bro Rascal, but once I get whatever we're wrestling over, it's mine. It truly is the one area that I'm working on, but my current foster family gets around this issue by having toys that are just mine, and toys just for Rascal. Since they did that, we have had zero issues. I really think I will do well and can adjust to a variety of situations, so if you think there's room in your family for a well-behaved young guy like me, I can't wait to meet you!

BW is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
