Butternut's Story

Hello, I'm Butternut! I'm very sweet, snuggly, and silly once I come out of my shell.

I'm about 2.5 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I have a behavior waiver that staff will discuss with you further.

I'm eligible for Greenhill's Foster-to-Adopt Program! Through this program, you can foster me to see if we are a good match before committing to an adoption. Canine program staff can tell you more and you can learn more about this program here: www.green-hill.org/foster-to-adopt.

Do you like...

Dogs? I do but can be dog selective and will need to meet similar sized dogs before going home with them.

Cats? Unknown. Staff are not sure if I would be successful living with a cat.

Kids? I can be a bit shy with new people and would like to start out meeting kiddos old enough to be gentle with me while we get to know each other. 8+

Here is what a volunteer has said about me:
"Butternut is so sweet! She is very curious and would love a calm, caring home!"

I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.

It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption.

My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!

ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license.

This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503.
