Buttercup (Tripod)'s Story

Please welcome Buttercup to the OOTW family!

This sweet soul made her way to us from HHamilton Township Animal Shelter & Adoption Center where she was found as a stray with a large mass on her leg.

Sadly, she needed her leg amputated, and the mass was sent out for biopsy which came back as a carcinoma. (diagnostic results from IDEXX shared below) We are hopeful that removing her leg has stopped the spread of cancer, but this possibility cannot be completely ruled out in the future.

Buttercup is estimated to be around 8 years old. She is now spayed and up to date on all her veterinary care. Her ideal home would be with someone willing to love her and give her an amazing life for however long she has left, which is currently unknown.

Buttercup is friendly with dogs, cats, and children. She is house-trained and a wonderful girl who deserves the best! She is currently in a foster home with both dogs and cats and is doing very well.

Finally, we want to give a huge thanks to the incredible doctors and Tabernacle Animal HospitalHospital who advocated for Buttercup and came together to give her a new leash on life! We are all so grateful!
(Dr. Leff, Dr. Hardiman & Dr. Jarman)

If you'd like to help us by adopting or fostering Buttercup, please send us a message or fill out the application below! Histologic margin status is the main prognostic factor for local recurrence of canine soft tissue sarcomas. These tumors are characterized by a low to moderate risk of post-surgical local recurrence after complete excision and generally low metastatic potential. Reported median survival times after complete excision are long (ranging from 1013-1416 days).
