Buttercup's Story

Buttercup has unfortunately found herself back with us. To no fault of her own!

Buttercup was adopted from us a while back. She was a young, energetic and very social girl her first time being with us. She originally tested well with dogs and loved everyone she met!

Unfortunately she found herself in a very unfortunate situation. To no fault of her previous owner, She got attacked by another dog and got the worst of it. Her physical wounds are healing well, but her trust in other dogs was destroyed. Her owner tried everything they could to keep her and keep her safe, but due to unchangeable circumstances she was living in a very unsafe situation for her. Her owner made the decision to bring her back to us in hopes that we can find her a better situation so she can thrive again!

Buttercup is still a very sweet and energetic girl but now she’s got some trust issues when it comes to dogs. She’s great with people, but will need a home with no other dogs And who knows… maybe with the right foster she can learn to trust other dogs again one day.

She is currently at County Line Pet Hospital in Steger IL
708-754-2351
Clphadoption@gmail.com

County Line Pet Hospital's Adoption Policy
All stray dogs and cats that come in and are unclaimed after 7 days are behavior tested and then placed up for adoption. We will have individuals who are interested in a pet fill out an adoption application. once that application is submitted, our adoption committee will review said application. Once approved we will call the potential adopter and set up a meet and greet with them and any other pets that are in the household. This applies to any other dogs that are or may be in the house, cats are ok to skip this process. We are always willing to set up several meet and greets if this would work best for potential adopters. If the meet and greet(s) go well we will then schedule the adoptable pet to be spayed or neutered if this still needs to happen. If the pet is already spayed / neutered then this pet can leave as soon as 24 hours after a decision is made. When the new owners come to pick up their new pet - we will need then to bring in payment and a leash / carrier for their new pet.
